Speaking in an interview with state TV late on Thursday, Spokesman for General Staff of Armed Forces Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi emphasized that the Iranian authorities have decided to close the Strait of Hormuz to vessels associated with the United States, Israel, and countries that have supported the aggression against Iran.
The US entered the war based on a false estimate, and the attack by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran showed the world that negotiating with the United States is of no use and is all about loss and damage.
Trump is considered the most lying, dishonorable, and despicable US president in American history, General Shekarchi emphasized.
Addressing the enemies, the spokesman maintained, “You had no achievements, you showed a stage of retreat every day since the first day of the war, you wanted to overthrow the Islamic Republic and destroy the Armed Forces of the country; you said that we must gain control of the Strait of Hormuz."
During the conflict, several tankers were attacked for passing through the strait without Tehran’s permission, he noted.
On March 25, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi annoounced that Iran had allowed passage through the Strait of Hormuz for friendly countries, including Russia, India, Iraq, China, and Pakistan.
